Meet Morgan

Morgan is a native of Rome, GA and now lives in Mobile, AL with her husband and two daughters. She received a BA in Sociology and Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College. Then in 2013, she received a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling (MAMFTC) from Reformed Theological Seminary. Later in 2018, Morgan returned to Reformed Theological Seminary where she earned a second Masters in Theological Studies (MATS), with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling.

She is currently an Associate Professional Counselor in Alabama (ALC) and has an Advanced Degree Certificate in Biblical Counseling from the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC). She has over a decade of experience in ministry, educational, hospital, and clinical settings with all ages. This includes private counseling, emergency inpatient care, clinical ABA therapy, behavioral and emotional intervention in public schools, private school counseling, and serving with a non-profit ministry known as Joni and Friends. Morgan is active in local church ministry and has enjoyed frequent opportunities to speak and teach. The variety of experiences has equipped Morgan to work with various needs.

FAQs

  • I do not want you in counseling forever! That is not the goal. This is a collaborative process that requires investment and commitment. Therefore, counseling will be as short as possible but as long as it takes. Most clients are able to see progress within a few months.

  • I provide one evening a week for evening appointments. The latest appointment I am able to offer is 7 pm.

  • Yes. I use Simple Practice, a HIPAA compliant platform, to provide this option in Alabama.

  • Each session lasts approximately 50 minutes. However, some intake sessions may be scheduled for 90 minutes.

  • I offer a flat rate fee. Individual sessions are $110, and Family/Couples sessions are $125.

  • Yes. I have a limited amount of sliding scale slots and I gladly provide this. I want counseling to be accessible.

  • At this time, I do not accept insurance. I accept all major credit/debit cards, cash, and check, as well as Zelle.

A word on my training and background

I am a Christian who works from a biblical world-view, and my practices emanate from this tradition. My training has equipped me to provide a biblical integration of Psychology and Theology. Many of my clients desire explicit faith-based counseling, and I provide this. I am also keenly aware of spiritual abuse and religious trauma some clients have experienced. I also work with clients who do not share the Christian faith. I do not impose my faith on you. However, it is important that I inform you of my framework, training, and specialties.
